By now I'm sure you all have gotten your trees, put up all your lights and are well on your way with gift shopping and getting ready to do some major cookie baking!
At our house lights and decorations are a pretty big thing, our son has taken over the task of lighting up our entire front yard and house while I turn the inside into a winter wonderland. Other than a few stocking stuffers and baking all that was left this weekend was to get our tree.
It was a bit odd this year, just my husband and I looking for a tree together. We haven't done that since we started having our kids 24 years ago.
By the time we got to the tree farm, coffee in hand, it was pitch black outside! We used his phone as a flashlight ( we later found there's an actual flashlight ap for his phone..who thinks these things up??), whenever we thought we might have found a suitable tree. I gotta say we did pretty good. No one twisted an ankle or got muddy knees from tripping over any tree stumps and we missed the rain! Best of all we had fun and our tree looks pretty awesome, gotta LOVE the smell of fresh pine and we even picked up some fresh mistletoe! :)
